Communication, trustworthy again.
Mia Relay is a product of Mia IP, the small UK software company also behind Mia Accounting. We build software that does exactly what it says, for a fair price, for ordinary people and small businesses.
Why we built Relay
We got sick of spam calls. The phone — once the most personal piece of technology any of us owned — had become something to dread, ignore, or screen. The phone network can't fix this because the economics of free, anonymous calling will always favour the attacker.
So we started from scratch. A new network, verified-identity from day one, with a small refundable economic cost attached to reaching strangers. It's the missing ingredient: trust at the protocol level, not bolted on later.
Who we are
Mia IP is run by John Scott. The same team builds Mia Accounting (UK accounting software for small businesses) and now Mia Relay. We're small, independent, and self-funded — which means we only answer to our users.
Where your data lives
Mia Relay is European. We're a UK company, we build here, and we host on UK and EU infrastructure — your messages, calls and account data stay in Europe rather than being shipped to American servers. There's no US parent company and no US entity in the picture: your relationship is with a European business, under UK and EU law, with the real GDPR rights that come with it. For people who'd rather their private conversations weren't sitting under another country's jurisdiction, that's the whole point.
Where we're going
Mia Relay launches in private beta during 2026 with native apps for Windows, Android and iPhone. A macOS app will follow. We're focused on getting verification, escrow, and core calling rock-solid before we add the long-tail features.
